Over 50 students from four to five-years-old, including 30 visually impaired children, graduated from The Ethel and Samuel J. LeFrak School in a heartwarming ceremony.

Lighthouse International honored 20 outstanding volunteers at the fifth annual Volunteer Recognition Award Ceremony.

Seven individuals were honored at Lighthouse International’s 2011 Scholarship and Career Awards (SCA), which recognizes outstanding students who have overcome the challenges of vision loss by awarding them with $10,000 scholarships for college and graduate studies.

The Filomen M. D’Agostino Greenberg Music School of Lighthouse International performed at The Metropolitan Museum of Art for the 15th Annual Lighthouse at the Met Concert.


Lighthouse International's annual fundraiser, LightYears 2010, was dedicated to saluting the art of film. The honorees included Robert Osborne, Tom & Dr. Madeleine Sherak, and Clo & Charles S. Cohen.

Nearly 500 people gathered in New York City for Double Up 4 Vision, Lighthouse International’s first 5K tandem bike ride and walk. The event paired visually impaired individuals with sighted individuals to ride on tandem bikes and as walking teams.

Thirty-seven children, including 19 visually impaired students, graduated in the annual Child Development Center (CDC) graduation. The 2010 guest speaker was Joey DelVecchio, a CDC graduate, class of 1987.

Lighthouse International volunteers, including three corporate partners, were honored at the 2010 Lighthouse International Volunteer Recognition Awards. The Volunteer Award Recognition System was created in 2007 to celebrate the dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers who support Lighthouse International’s mission of fighting vision loss
